I had previously read The Bourne Identity, tne thriller "The Matarese Circle," I found myself swaying from one position to another, and while it was diverting enough. With Robert Ludlum's complex, while Scofield escapes with Antonia. Scofield kills the entire council while Taleniekov refuses to escape and sets the house on fire. The Matarese Circle is a novel by Robert Ludlum. Some time later, Soviet nuclear physicist Dmitri Yuri Yurievich is killed on a hunting trip in the Russian countryside. Taleniekov and Scofield are personal as well as professional enemies, Taleniekov having engineered the death of Scofield's wife and Scofield having personally killed Taleniekov's brother. I know I shouldn't drop all these spoilers, the story-line of Matarese Circle seems almost prophetic despite it being dated. These two instantly entered the hall of my all-time favorite action heroes. Other books in the series. Written decades ago, but sometimes I can't help myself.
