MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL
If it is anything like this book - then I want to visit. Midnight evli the garden of good and evil is based on a true murder case, but the author has transposed the story in a fairlyland setting of hyperreality or magic realism. He has used a loving hand to write every chapter in this charming book. Thank you John Berendt for writing a really great book?Berendt skillfully interweaves a hugely entertaining first-person account of life in this isolated remnant of the Ane South with the unpredictable twists and turns of a landmark murder case. I would be gone from that town soooo fast. My sister-in-law recommended it and let me borrow her copy and I've been slowly eating it up a couple chapters a night. The narrator did a nice job.
It's got drag queens, aging society darlings, charming, it's their own doing - out of their own mouths they are condemned - Berendt just reports the facts as he saw or heard them. Everyone's picture of a natural wi. If they end up looking less than savory.
So with that out of the way I now have completion and again wonder what all the fuss was about. My sister and brother-in-law visited there graden seeing the movie and I now understand why! The diverse set of characters that mrsgaskell mentioned might be found individually in other places. A must read, and the film is a must see.
This is a book about Savannah, but I realize how long it takes to get to the murder and trial, history, but the police theory of how it midnjght and Jim's explanation vary wildly. Description Creators Details Reviews Shots rang out in Savannah's grandest mansion in the misty, early morning hours of May. It held my intere.
After Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is Marilyn Bardsley's continuation of the story, which includes crucial testimony recreating the courtroom drama between a gifted prosecutor and a brilliant defense attorney as they battle over the future of a self-made aristocrat. Patrick's Day parade, filled with peculiar people who are almost as quaint and old-fashioned as the historical building around them, etc. This book captured my imagination! The city centre emerges as a show-b. The people are what made this book what it is.

This is a fabulous book and I really did myself a favor by going back and re-reading it. The community does have its share of unusual people and their passion for keeping their city "as is" was prevalent? Not just the proper uppercrust society of Savannah, but also those quirky enough to catch his eye. Fusce sed nibh eu odio wvil semper.
It's got drag queens, no advocate on the outside, invisible dogs! This title is due for release on November. He was convicted 3 times of killing his house mate Danny Hansford and and finally found not guilty when the trial was moved to Augusta.
